As promised, more pictures involving the chronicle of the biggest and bestest snowman ever built by anyone, anywhere, ever.
First, we made the paper. I am not in the photo that was submitted to the paper, but my friend and fellow snow-architect Aaron Zohnd and his daughter Kayden are. Salem News, Saturday, February 20th, 2010.
Then there's me, and I think this picture really puts into perspective just how big Snowliath is. He's taller than the roof of the porch of the house behind me (which is Aaron's house).
.
I drive past him every day on my way to work, and he gets a bit smaller each time I see him. But his legacy will live on in my mind, if no one else's.

Top Ten Thoughts O' The Day (2-23-10)
10. Recording equipment ordered - anticipation ensues.
9. Our 12 foot snowman made the local paper - pictures to come soon.
8. Edge of Darkness - exactly what I thought it would be: fantasticly mediocre. Hopefully Shutter Island will redeem my five wasted dollars.
7. I want to quit my job so I can build musicks.
6. Summer...summer...summer...
5. Take the Name - band starting out, trying to make a spot for themselves. Check them out. Genuine, solid guys. Good hangs. Review to follow, again, soon.
4. LOST - I LhOaVtEe you.
3. Trainspotting - The trippiest movie I've seen in awhile. Not sure how I feel about it.
2. "I will go before you, and will level the mountains. I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name."
-Isaiah 45: 2-3

Top Ten Thoughts O' The Day (2-17-10)
10. I am very much enjoying the latter days of Reliant K's career.
9. Normally, when I dream, I forget all about it the moment my feet hit the floor. Had a nightmare the other day. Probably the scariest I've ever had. Can't seem to shake it.
8. Zombieland = perfection (its own kind).
7. I dislike it when people tell you to check the mail in the morning, but they apparently miscalculated how fast the U.S. postal system works, and there is nothing for you to find. Especially when you got work before the mail comes, so you've that nagging quasi-excitement all day. Disappointing.
6. "How we live our days is how we live our lives." -Annie Dillard
5. If you ever have a chance to read "This Is Water" by David Foster Wallace, please do. You won't regret it, especially if you attended a liberal arts university. (Unfortunately, a publisher owns the rights to the speech, and has removed all traces of it from the interwebs. It was a twenty minute speech, spoken live, one time, and the publisher is greedy enough to make people pay $15 for it in book form, when it should be available to anyone and everyone.)
4. Snow, you were cute for awhile. Now you're just annoying. Knock it off.
3. I believe I'll watch Pandorum as I go to bed tonight...which probably won't help with the nightmare situation.
2. Me, sitting in my basement. I open my laptop, open the sound recorder program, place the computer as close to my amp as possible. I record a riff. I save it, then play it back as a .wav file, plugging one set of headphones into the computer, and another into my amp, creating a mix in my head, and I play along with what I recorded. This is my ultra-cheap, ultra-tedious, and ultra-frustrating writing/recording process. Hopefully this will be remedied soon.
1. Death closes all; but something ere the end
Some work of noble note may yet be done
Not unbecoming of men that strove with Gods.
-Tennyson

The greatest man-feat of winter 2009-2010
This is what I did with my weekend. It's one of those things that I'm very glad to have done, but probably will never do again. The amount of work was staggering, but the result was epic. I dare anyone to top this.
BEHOLD, SNOWLIATH. STANDING AT ELEVEN AND A HALF FEET TALL, HE WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING IN HIS PATH. AT LEAST, HE WOULD, IF HE COULD MOVE.
BEHOLD MY WORKS, YE MIGHTY, AND DESPAIR.
This is my valentine's present to the world.

Top Ten Thoughts O' The Day (2-4-10)
10. Six more weeks of winter? Suck. Wish I was in Virginia where they cancel everything at the sight of a single snowflake.
9. LOST: You either love it or hate it. Most of the time, it's both.
8. The trouble with being center-right or slightly moderate is that no matter what you do, people from both the right and the left or going to piss you off, and visa-versa. You simply can't win. (For instance, I'm not a tree-hugger, but what is wrong with being a little more careful about the environment? I've been blasted for expressing this statement, and actually called liberal. What is liberal about conserving some things so that the future doesn't suck? You know, not everything has to be part of a political agenda. Someone recently told me they weren't interested in going to see a certain movie because it looks "too environmentalist." So you can't go enjoy a good story because of that? And why are you anti-environmental anyway? Ugh...)
7. You should check this out: http://www.breakthroughband.com
6. Mortgage rates, interest rates, mutual funds, stock portfolios, IRA's...am I supposed to care about all of this stuff? Because I don't. I really, really don't.
5. Mass Effect 2: The best game I've played in awhile. Top 5.
4. I really wish the word "epic" wasn't so hackneyed. It's a good word, and until a couple years ago, people hardly used it. It's kind of lost its meaning, which is a shame.
3. Why is it that the only Christians who make the news are the ones who are morons? Like these people. Well-meaning morons, but morons nonetheless. I guess someone forgot the whole "wise as serpents, harmless as doves" thing. This is why people hate us.
2. The Juliana Theory is playing reunion/farewell shows in August, and I already have my tickets. FACT.
1. I hope Mr. Gerard Way gets better soon.
